SOMETHING DREAMY (2016)
Drawing on her latest works, One Small Step for a Man: Hello, Goodbye (2015) and Earth in 100 Years (2016), in this performance lecture the maker reflects on her artistic research on the notion of ’social imaginaries’. Central to the lecture are the views of the philosopher Cornelius Castoriadis on the imaginary qualities of our everyday life as well as those of the human geographer Pepe Romanillos on Earth’s ’view from above’. By addressing our inability to dream in today’s neoliberal context, as this has been discussed by Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby in their Speculative Everything, the attempt is to open space for reimagining our possible presents and futures together.
